We got a quick crash course in tinted primers from the nice folks at Kelly Moore. Painting 'Joshua Tree' green directly over 'Candy Cane' red would have been disasterous. We purchased a fairly pricey primer made for dark-color indoor projects and tinted it with our chosen color. The expense was well worth it!
