The red room was an interesting education for us on how much an overwhelming color can alter the lighting of every room connected to it. Note how much light is being reflected off the red paint and bouncing on the gloss ceiling, making the ceiling look pink. We noticed 2 strange phenomenon occuring throughout the front of the house on closer inspection: 1) the ceilings were all painted in a shiny gloss which 2) bounced a huge ammount of reflected red light throughout all the rooms in the front of the house, making everything pink colored. Compare the white of the baseboard (which looks true white next to the more neutral green) to the same 'white' of the ceiling, which looks pink next to the red.
