The previous owners built a nice big garden box by the stone steps, and rotated flowers and veggies in and out of it according to the season. I left some onions from early spring in it, but added a lobelia, a flat of dahlias, a flat of sweet peas, and two varieties of cucumber that Tad chose for this season's update.
